Produce

At Bó Rua Farm, we handcraft our farmhouse cheddar using milk from our own Montbéliarde and Friesian cows, known for their rich and creamy milk—perfect for cheesemaking. Our Bó Rua Farm Cheddar is traditionally made and carefully aged to develop its full flavour, resulting in a smooth, well-balanced cheese with a delicious depth of flavour.

Award Winning Irish Cheese

Alongside our classic cheddar, we also produce a range of flavoured varieties, thoughtfully infused with natural ingredients to complement the cheese’s creamy texture and rich, savoury notes. Whether enjoyed on its own, in cooking, or as part of a cheeseboard, our cheese showcases the quality and tradition at the heart of our farm.

Bó Rua Farm Cheddar Tasting Notes

“Bright yellow paste with a pale yellow rind. There is a tangy aroma and a farmyard note. The texture is soft but slightly grainy with a good bite. The taste is zingy and long lasting and the texture pleasingly mouth-coating. The salt level is perfect and the flavour mellow and rounded.”

“Appealing aroma and clean, lactic, nutty and almost caramel flavour notes that increase in maturity from the centre of the cheese to the rind. Well balanced and delightful.”
